If you are a Staff (high school scout) member and want to do rock climbing at Devils Lake, please contact Mr. Chung or Mr. Vorwald (Bvorwald@wgntv.com) immediately.
Additionally, if your scout wishes to continue in Troop 20, I must have their reregistration check for $35.00 by 11/3. It should be made payable to Troop 20 and can be dropped off at my house - 730 Walden Road. Scouts without re-registration checks by that date will not go on the Campout and we will decide on a case by case basis about continuing them on the roster. I would appreciate any Scouts that wish to drop from the Troop to let me know as well. Thank you to everyone who has forwarded me the check.
For those staff members and parents who attended the Life to Eagle or who reached out to me about conflicts - thank you. We had a very informative meeting with Mr. Colley and with Mr. Schaeffer.
With the exception of the Moose Patrols, we will meet tonight at NSCD School at our regular 7:45 PM time. They are attending the Village Council meetings to understand how the budget works as part of their Communication Merit Badge.
I have had a number of inquiries about Merit Badges and am impressed at the eagerness of our scouts. I believe that at least some of our own Mark Filip (ex-Attorney General of the US), John Hoff (our local law and military resource), and Rob Bahan (Village Manager) are teaming up to offer Citizenship in the World, in the Nation, and in the Community later this winter/early spring. They have been kind enough to teach this program every other year for many years. I strongly suggest that if you are interested in these Eagle required badges and you are in the Stealth Patrol or older - you plan on taking them this way. The First Aid Merit Badge will be taught in the winter by Dr. Sean Ryan to anyone who needs it and it is suggested for all Wolverines. Cooking is normally part of the 7th Grade year. Exact times and dates will be forthcoming.
I am pleased to announce another High Adventure Trip for Summer 2016. Attached is a flyer announcing a trip led by Wolverine Dad Manny Rivera and me to Mt. Hood and the Cascades that will include a day of summer skiing, alpine hiking and five days of river rafting. If you are interested, talk to either one of us.
As a reminder, the US Virgin Islands Trip is filled but we still have 2 spaces available on the Grand Canyon Rafting trip. If you are interested, please let Bob Vorwald know at (Bvorwald@wgntv.com).
See you tonight.
