We have been asked by the Principal Kelly Tess for some help to rehabilitate the Skokie School Gardens and this is another great chance for Troop 20 to show how we can help improve our own town. We will have our first volunteer work project on next Saturday October 17 from 11:00 - 1:00 PM.
We will be pulling weeds, chopping/sawing down and removing unwanted bushes and trees, pulling vines, doing some digging and generally getting the garden into a state where students can enjoy the garden and where planter beds and a greenhouse can be installed later.
We will have snacks (doughnuts??) and drinks for all who attend. Wolverines are especially encouraged to attend as for most of the patrols, this is fixing up their own school and you can show your Principal what you can get done. If you are a member of the Staff that has been conflicted during other events, its a great chance to come by and be counted. If you have a conflict for part of the time, that is fine, come for the non-conflicted part.
Please RSVP to Nat Roberts by hitting reply.
We still have four open spaces on the Grand Canyon Rafting Trip for Summer 2016. Please contact Bob Vorwald (BVorwarld@Wgntv.com) if interested.
Staff members - make sure you get back to Mr. Fritts in regards to his emails on hats and a meeting time (tfritts@Ameritech.net).
A thank you to Pat Fox and Tom Hession for offering to take over the Christmas Tree Lot from Brian Scullion.
This weekend includes the campout as well as the High Adventure meeting, for those that are interested. Good luck on the camping trip and look at the calendar for details on the High Adventure meeting.
We will be meeting at North Shore Country Day School at 7:45 PM on Tuesday night as usual.
Thanks and have a good weekend.
