*Sunday night at 7pm we have our committee meeting in the Winnetka Park District community room.
*Our Court of Honor is Tuesday night in the Greeley School Auditorium at 7:45p. All scouts need to be on hand at 7:30p. All scouts (not just those getting awards) should attend and support the troop.
*Mark Filip will be on hand Tuesday to discuss Friends of Scouting, our district’s initiative to raise funds for NEIC activities. Bring your checkbook or contribute from home – Mark will have forms available and we thank you in advance for support of our council.
*We will start our First Aid month on February 17. Each patrol needs to be sure to bring their entire kit each Tuesday. The First Aid Rally is Saturday, March 14. Sixth graders and anyone else interested in taking the First Aid merit badge class (highly recommended) should contact Dr. Sean Ryan email@example.com . This is a fantastic class which meets before our meetings for five straight Tuesdays beginningFebruary 17. We also need senior scouts who want leadership credit to help out.
*The NEIC is coming to our February 17 for a short presentation on our scouting summer camp – Camp Makajawan.
*Potawatomi Merit Badge Day will be held on February 21 at the LDS Church in Wilmette. For details, register at http://www.neic.org/Event.aspx?id=875
*Our annual Freeze Out overnight will be held on February 21 at Crow Island (details below and permission slip attached).
*We will hold a High Adventure meeting on Sunday, February 22 at 7p in the WPD community room to discuss trips for this year and possibilities in the future. Those who are working on trips this year should attend.
*Our Order of the Arrow election is at the start of the February 24 meeting. We need a quorum in order to certify the election so all scouts need to be on hand, especially OA members who have had the chance to participate. You owe it to the other scouts to make sure others get to share in the experience.
*Scouting For Food distribution will be Saturday, March 7 with food pickup on Saturday morning March 14. (Yes, pick-up and the First Aid rally are the same day – not the council’s finest moment).
*We will have an open house for 5th graders and any other boys interested in scouting on March 17. We need all Troop 20 scouts on hand to participate and answer questions.
